Utah: The Drive Back

The one thing we weren’t prepared for this trip was the weather. Expecting it to be over 20 degrees, we didn’t anticipate having to go through multiple weather systems in one day – sun, rain, wind, hail, snow, clouds and back to sun. After Bryce, we took a different route back towards Vegas, encountering more snow along the way. Snow in April? Who knew.

We had time to make an impromptu stop at Kolob Canyon – the northwest section of Zion – for more magnificent views. We spent the night at St. George and had a chance to make a quick visit to Red Cliffs National Conservation Area for a quick morning hike before going back to the city life.

As much as I wish we had more time to explore further, it was, in essence, the perfect road trip. It left me satisfied, but at the same time, wanting more. I can’t wait to go back.
