A visit to Southern Utah has been on my list for awhile, so I snatched an opportunity for a short road trip. I had to narrow down a few places due to a time constraint, so we settled on the Southwestern region. We started the trip in Vegas and made a short drive into the state of Utah. The change in scenery was very welcome, as was the warmer weather.
On our first full day, we set out early to Zion National Park to do some hiking. Upon entering the area, I was met with a sense of awe and grandeur at the surroundings and it quickly became a favourite. After a quick stop at the visitor’s centre, we decided to go with the most recommended hike, Angels Landing. Once we were up there, the scenery screamed ‘Jurassic Park’ – I remember thinking how incredible this place was, unable to fathom how something so spectacular could possibly exist. Down below, you feel dwarfed by the giant cliffs, but up above, you feel like you’re on top of the world.
It was grand, it was elegant, it was inspiring. Photos do no justice to its magnificence.
