Tokyo: Tsukiji Market

The day we went to Tsukiji Market was a rainy, dreary one. It was our first stop that morning, wanting to get there nice and early at around, as there wouldn’t be much to see later on in the morning. Based on the early start the market gets, we already got there pretty late at 9:30 – some of the shops were already closing down for the day, while some still had some seafood on sale.

Located in the glitzy Ginza district, Tsukiji Market might seem out of place. Once you enter, the market proves to be enclosed in it’s own little busy world, with no indication of the modern environment outside.
